Toon It Up
Ever sit at home watching your favorite cartoons and wonder “How do they do that?” Join us as we go behind the scenes into the world of animation. Start on the basic level with shapes and colors and build your way up to making your own cartoon storyboards. Explore the Museum’s new Animation exhibit.
June 20-24, 2011
Solve It! SOLD OUT
Keep your eyes open for clues as we start this camp with a mystery and spend the entire week solving it. Follow in the steps of a CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) team and discover the unique patterns of fingerprints and learn how DNA can be traced.

Lightning McQueen’s Grand Prix
Every day, we travel in various vehicles but never think about the science that makes them go. Explore the science that moves vehicles on land, water, air and space! Then, build various models of each to test against each other. Take a trip to the IMAX theater and watch Cars 2.

Incredible Eats and Tasty Treats
It’s our two-camps-in-one combo! Learn about kitchen basics and the digestion process, then, stir up some fun with breakfast, dinner and everyone’s favorite, CANDY! This camp cooks up some tasty fun and science is the main ingredient.

Physics Fanatics
Do you know what makes a rollercoaster speed through all those twists and turns? This camp uncovers these wonders of physics and more. Learn about sound and light waves and how electricity and magnetism work together. Then put your new found knowledge in motion and create your own simple machines.

Prehistoric World
investigate how early life evolved in extreme conditions and learn about extinct and living dinosaurs. Discover why so many animals disappeared, and how early humans used science to survive.

Time Travelers
Take a trip through time and discover how science was used in our earliest civilizations. Go back to the days of pharaohs and uncover the mysteries of the pyramids and learn how science was used in early Chinese dynasties. Explore Greek astrology and the intricate Roman aqueducts. Discover how the information age is just the beginning of an era in which we will continue to revolutionize our lives.

Molecules Are Us
Come along on this journey and discover the fascinating world of chemistry. Explore the world of atoms as you create your own edible molecules. Step into our laboratory and learn to identify the chemicals that make up the different colors of fireworks. Then, test out your new discoveries and perform some cool chemistry experiments.

To Infinity and Beyond
Join us for this astronomical trip across the universe, learning all about the vastness of space and what it contains. Step into our StarLab and view the many different constellations handed down over thousands of years. Follow the life cycles of stars, see how solar systems are formed and learn where to discover your own space debris.

Stomping Grounds
Jump into the ocean, trek through the desert, and bundle up in the Arctic as we explore life in the various ecosystems of the world. Meet some of Florida’s native and non-native animals, and join us in our dissection lab as we explore the “ins and outs” of various animals. Try your hand at Habitat Match and test your ability to survive during Ecosystems Twister.
