Opens February 10, 2012

The new journey begins when young adventurer Sean (Josh Hutcherson) receives a coded distress signal from a mysterious island where no island should exist--a place of strange life forms, mountains of gold, deadly volcanoes, and more than one astonishing secret. Unable to stop him from going, Sean's new stepfather (Dwayne Johnson) joins the quest. Together with a helicopter pilot (Luis Guzman) and his beautiful, strong-willed daughter (Vanessa Hudgens), they set out to find the island, rescue its lone inhabitant and escape before seismic shockwaves force the island under the sea and bury its treasures forever.

John Carter: An IMAX 3D Experience
Opens March 9, 2012

Edgar Rice Burroughs' classic tale of interplanetary adventure arrives on the big screen in this sweeping sci-fi spectacle marking the live-action debut of Oscar-winning director Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo, WALL-E). Civil War veteran John Carter (Taylor Kitsch) was still haunted by the violence he witnessed on the battlefield when he inexplicably awoke on the distant planet of Barsoom (Mars). Upon learning that the inhabitants of Barsoom are bracing for a major conflict and that war appears inevitable, John finds out that love is a rare commodity on the Red Planet, and summons the courage to be the hero the Martians have been hoping for. Meanwhile, John falls under the spell of the enchanting Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins), who struggles to suppress her compassion in a society known for its warlike ways. Willem Dafoe, Samantha Morton, and Mark Strong co-star.

To the Arctic: An IMAX 3D Experience

To The Arctic tells the story of one mother polar bear’s determination to keep her cubs alive in the face of natural predators and a rapidly changing climate. Home to people, animals and sea creatures that thrive on this icy world of glaciers, the Arctic Circle is facing dramatic changes that threaten to disrupt this delicate balance of life.

SPECIAL EXHIBITS

NOW ON EXHIBIT

K’NEX: Building Thrill Rides
What’s the angular velocity of the Blender Ride as it spins about the center post? This is just one of many questions that will be answered in K’NEX: Building Thrill Rides, a special exhibit that will captivate visitors and provide them the opportunity to explore the science, math and technology behind hair-raising amusement park thrill rides.

The display models will range from a 10-foot-tall roller coaster, to a 6-foot Ferris wheel all made from K'NEX regular and micro parts. The realistic actions of the models will bring scientific and engineering concepts to life for visitors, who will be able to conduct simple experiments to explore physical forces such as potential and kinetic energy, and linear and rotational motion.

Happily, children won’t have to leave their on-site creations behind – instead, they can purchase their designs, with pricing based on a Weigh & Pay model. The Explore Store will also have K’NEX sets on sale for aspiring young engineers and architects.
