of Discovery and Science to Host Ninth Annual Bank of
America Wine and Culinary Celebration
Fort Lauderdale, November 10, 2003
The Ninth Annual Bank of America
Wine
and Culinary Celebration will be held April 30, 2004 at the Museum of Discovery
and Science. The evening will be hosted by SPARK (Science Patron for Advancing
Research and Knowledge) who plans to spark the imaginations of wine
and food connoisseurs. Serving as co-chairs of the event are Jean Bell and Stacie
Weisman . The events presenting sponsor is Bank of America. Southern
Wine & Spirits is underwriting the wine and liquor for the event. All
proceeds will benefit the Museums exhibits, films and outreach programs.
Kicking off the evening is the VIP Reception from 5:30 to 7:30pm. A highlight
of the VIP hour is the Martini Madness Party complete with live music and dancing
while sampling from a selection of more than 30 different martini delights.
The party will be in full swing when general admission starts at 7:30 p.m. Wines
from around the world will be paired with cuisine from South Floridas top
chefs. Just as the event kicks off on the upbeat note of the Martini Madness
party, it will conclude in equal high style. Guests that hold pre-purchased tickets
for this part of the evening are invited to the Sweet Dreams Café set
up within the Museum for the post-event enjoyment of our guests. Here, delectable
desserts will be served, accompanied by specialty coffees and an assortment of
distinguished liquors. What a wonderful way to end an enchanting evening.
The unique aspect of the event is that wines and restaurants will be sectioned
into regions of the world known for its wines. Among regions featured will
be France, Australia, South America, Italy and The United States. As an
added guest benefit, tables will carry cards with a description of the wines
they taste and wines are available for purchase on-site. The event is expected
to showcase over 30 of South Floridas top chefs and restaurants and literally
hundreds of wines. Some wines will be poured for the first time to the public.
