Wine and Culinary Celebration at the Museum of Discovery and
Science, April 15, 2005
The 10th Annual Bank of America
Wine and Culinary Celebration will be hosted by S.P.A.R.K.
(Science Patrons Advancing Research and Knowledge) at the Museum
of Discovery and Science on Friday, April 15, 2005 from 6 p.m.
to 9:30 p.m.
The event will feature a progressive sequence of wine and food
pairings, each bound to delight, educate and entertain guests.
More than 30 of South Florida’s top restaurants and chefs will
be represented, as well as 200 wines from wineries around the
world, courtesy of Southern Wine and Spirits. The event will
also feature strolling musicians, a silent auction, a wine and
culinary raffle and wine tasting classes.
The evening will begin with a VIP hour, which includes Champagne
and Martini Bars from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., where guests will sample
an array of champagnes and martini delights and enjoy live
music. Doors open for general admission at 7 p.m. A VIP ticket
is $150 per person and General Admission is $85 per person. For

In addition, there will be a related Master Sommelier Dinner a
week prior to the big event. This exclusive evening, limited to
100 guests, will feature a seven-course dinner paired with fine
wines and a wine presentation by one of the country’s leading
Master Sommeliers. Ticket information for this event will be
available soon.
With more than 1,000 people expected to attend, this celebration
is anticipated to raise significant funds for the Museum of
Discovery and Science. Serving as co-chairs for the event are
Linda Stepenovitch, Mandy Haagenson and Tara McGinn. The
presenting sponsor is Bank of America, and the exclusive
beverage sponsor is Southern Wine and Spirits.

children and adults through exhibits, programs and films.

ABOUT THE MUSEUM OF DISCOVERY AND SCIENCE

The Museum is open seven days a week (365 days a year); Monday
through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to
6 p.m. with extended IMAX® hours on Friday and Saturday
evenings. General admission prices are $14 for adults; $13 for
seniors; $12 for children 3 to 12. Children under 3 are free. A
General Admission Ticket includes admission to the Museum
exhibits and one IMAX® film. The Museum of Discovery and Science

ABOUT THE BLOCKBUSTER® IMAX® THEATER
The Blockbuster® IMAX®Theater owned and operated by the Museum
of Discovery and Science, opened in 1992. The 300-seat theater
is a showcase of state-of-the-art motion picture technology. The
Blockbuster® IMAX®Theater features a 60 ft. x 80 ft. screen and
a 15,000 watt digital sound system that delivers six discrete
channels of clear sound through 42 speakers. The IMAX®
projector’s 15,000 watt Xenon bulb projects images of
unsurpassed brilliance and clarity onto the five-story-high
screen. Both 2D and 3D films are shown in the theater. 3D films
are viewed using electronic headsets. The IMAX® experience is an
